Automotive Division
The Group started the Automotive business in the early 1940s with several brands, some of which no longer exist, including Desoto, Packard, Fargo, Monteverdi, Wolseley and MG. In 1948, the Automotive Group was the first to introduce Chrysler vehicles in the Kuwaiti market and in 1972, history repeated itself when the company introduced Mitsubishi to the Kuwaiti market as well as the Middle East.Mitsubishi to the Kuwaiti market as well as the Middle East.
2006 saw additional expansion for the Group with the creation of a joint venture with Behbehani Motors. Known as Al Mulla & Behbehani Motor Company, the entity handled the distribution of all Chrysler International brands: Chrysler, Dodge, and Jeep in Kuwait. By 2010, the company added value to its brand with the acquisition of exclusive distribution rights for Fiat and Alfa Romeo automobiles. In 2014, Al Mulla Group welcomed a new brand to the family when it became the sole distributor of Honda Motor Company’s luxury brand, ACURA.
This spirited journey of expansion culminated in 2018 with Al Mulla Group being chosen by Daimler AG as the sole authorized distributor of Mercedes-Benz passenger cars and commercial vehicles in Kuwait. Today, with a 2,500+ strong workforce, the Automotive Group enjoys a presence in Kuwait, Iraq, Egypt and the UAE, operating numerous divisions and facilities; including new and used car showrooms, spare parts outlets, and service centers.
